Jump Into the Light is thrilled to announce the
Artist-in-Residence Open Call #3!
Emerging and mid-career artists are encouraged to submit their projects for consideration to be part of our one-month artist residency program: Intensive Animation & 3D Painting in Virtual and Mixed Reality. We are seeking artists who see the potential of VR as a vehicle to rewire our current understandings of the connections between art, technology and design. The focus of this residency is to pair artists and creative thinkers with technological tools that will allow them to incorporate 3D content from VR into their existing body of work and/or to develop new work.
Selected artists will have free access to JITL’s downtown location Monday through Friday between 11AM-3PM and will receive technical support from JITL team members. The main objective of this residency is for selected artists to develop new work in VR that will expand our understanding of the intersection between art, design and technology. Our facilities offer access to various virtual reality headsets and platforms. The residency takes place from March 20th through April 21th, 2016 and will culminate in a one-night special event to showcase the artist’s final work and creative process during their time at JITL. All submissions will be reviewed and considered for future exhibitions and special events. Please note that we will not be able to offer feedback for unsuccessful applications.
Jump Into the Light is America’s first Virtual Reality Cinema & Playlab. We are a dedicated team bringing creative individuals and immersive technologies together.
